Mary Beth Gahan is a freelance journalist based in Dallas, Texas.
Mary Beth has taken readers to a small cafe in Hiroshima where atomic bomb survivors tell their story, relayed the troubles military families face when moving overseas with pets and transported Texans to an otherwise unassuming pecan tree that lights up the night sky each holiday season.
Her bylines and photos have appeared in The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and Texas Monthly. Before freelancing, she was a staff writer at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va. for nearly five years.
She lived in Iwakuni, Japan while her family was stationed overseas and now has settled in Dallas with her husband and two kids.
